Job description

- Theoretical Instruction: Delivering comprehensive theoretical courses in navigation ;
- Simulator Training: Conducting simulator sessions to provide practical experience
and hands-on training in various navigation scenarios;
- Practical Training at Sea: Supervising and leading students during sea periods
aboard a training vessel, where they gain practical experience in real-life navigation
situations, including chart plotting, route planning, and watchkeeping.
- Navigation Technology: Keeping students updated on the latest navigation
technologies and equipment, including GPS, electronic chart systems, and radar, and
instructing them on their effective use.
- Mentorship: Providing guidance, mentorship, and professional development advice to
students, helping them develop the skills and knowledge necessary for naval
navigation.
- Curriculum Development: Developing and updating navigation course materials and
curricula to align with the QENF needs as well as the advancements in navigation
technology and maritime regulations.
- Collaboration: Collaborating with fellow instructors, naval personnel, and
administrative staff to ensure the success of training programs and the overall
educational mission of the academy.

Profile

- Navigation Expertise: Profound knowledge of maritime navigation principles,
techniques, and equipment, including celestial navigation, electronic navigation
systems, and chart plotting.
- Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in maritime navigation gained through
extensive sea voyages and practical application of navigation skills.
- Instructional Skills: Effective teaching abilities to convey complex navigation concepts
and principles to students through theoretical courses, simulator training, and practical
sea voyages.
- Navigation Technology: Knowledge of the latest navigation technologies and
equipment, including GPS, electronic chart systems, and radar, along with the ability to
instruct on their use.
- Assessment and Evaluation: Skill in assessing students' navigation competence,
including their ability to plan routes, maintain navigational watch, and respond to
emergencies.
